Publicity Matters

Producer, director and theatre owner – Themi Venturas, has gone out on a limb and purchased the rights to the Broadway production – ‘Shear Madness’, which has been running for the past 27 years without interest abating.

If you haven't as yet, seen 'Shear Madness' at the Catalina Theatre this festive season, then best you do .....

With a script which has been adapted for South African audiences, ‘Shear Madness’ is a murder mystery which not only involves the audience, but is a laugh a minute.

This is no normal play … from the moment one enters the theatre there is action on the stage (and this continues through the interval). Set in a unisex hair salon in the city the play revolves around the murder of a famous veteran concert pianist Isabel Czerny, who lives above the shop - stabbed with a pair of scissors.

AND every night the ending is different as it up to the audience to decide who committed the murder (which is off-stage) – there are four possible suspects, who for a portion of the show have to adlib as questions are thrown at them.

The cast is superb and features Claire Mortimer, Daisy Spencer, Michael Gritten, Marc Kay, Daveshan Govender and Loyiso MacDonald.

Magnificent entertainment … should definitely not be missed. Booking through www.goingplacessa.com or phone 031 309 1841.
